It all started at Harvard University with a simple question: what if nature could teach us how to replicate the texture of animal tissue? Here's our story.

2022

Inspired by natural fibers and our founder Insa’s background in pharma and biotech, we began experimenting with plant-based building blocks and, after being accepted into Y Combinator, launched Mooji Meats from a small lab in Baltimore.

2023

We launched our first whole-cut steak (our infamous "ribeye") as a restaurant pilot in Baltimore City. Religiously focusing on customer feedback, we moved into a shared commercial kitchen and refined both the product while scaling the process.

2024

We rebrand into Offbeast Foods and expand into restaurants across the East Coast. Our Cross-Fiber Assembly platform launches giving rise to our filet mignons and our steak bites, the latter designed for cost-effective, high-volume foodservice.

2025

Listening to customers asking to cook our products at home, we launch our e-commerce store www.offbeast.shop. Demand further accelerated and we launch our first holiday bundles and collaborations. By summer, we open our first own factory in Baltimore, enabling 10x growth in less than a year.
